Holistic Safety Program Manager

The Full-Time Holistic Safety Program Manager position oversees the organization’s direct services including clinical supervision of service staff and administrative oversite. This position leads the service team and its activities. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Director.

Healing Action is a St. Louis based non-profit organization that serves adults who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation including, but not limited to, sex trafficking, prostitution, stripping, escorting, pornography, and survival sex.

Healing Action focuses on providing relational trauma recovery services that include intensive service management, trauma therapy, individual and group peer support services, drop-in support center, psychoeducation groups, and housing case management.

What You’ll Do… 

  • Trauma Informed Supervision
    • Interview, hire, train, onboard, and effectively provide direct supervision, support, and professional development for all program staff
    • Assign and monitor workloads of supervisees
    • Oversee & coordinate client caseloads, waiting lists, and drop-in center office coverage
    • Provide clear instructions and expectations for activities while maintaining effective oversite
    • Work with Student Learning Program Manager and Director to assess complex problems and select problem solving interventions to help staff address Member needs
    • Communicate with leadership about Service Team needs
  • Program Management
    • Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources
    • In conjunction with the Quality Assurance Director, participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for Healing Action’s direct service delivery
    • Effectively lead and coordinate programmatic needs, such as organizing/streamlining staff service processes, including program inventory, organization of services, and special initiatives
    • Provide training and support regarding program services to fellow staff Members, answering questions, explaining processes, services, providing input on community resources/support procedures
    • Provide approval for crisis funds/hotels to Service Team Members
    • Provide education about Commercial Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking to community partners to increase access to, and the quality of, services Members can obtain
    • Maintain communication between partner agencies and Healing Action for coordination and scheduling
    • Be able to speak fluently to various stakeholders about the needs of the folks we serve and the role Healing Action plays in meeting those needs
  • Trauma Focused Practice
    • Establish a helping relationship, assesses complex problems, selects problem solving interventions and help Members function effectively
    • Work with Members and staff to complete a comprehensive safety plan
    • Support Members and staff in accessing community resources, including housing, public transportation, state benefits, employment development, childcare, and social networks
    • Provide psychoeducation and therapeutic skills to promote Member recovery
    • Help Members and staff understand their treatment and recovery options
    • Inform Members and staff about community and natural supports and how to use these in the recovery process
    • Participate in Supervision, Service Team meetings, and All-Agency meetings
    • Administer a variety of pre/post assessments and evaluations to ensure effectiveness of services
    • Work with Service Team to strengthen the infrastructure required to expand and deliver comprehensive services
    • Build new relationships with organizations to build capacity of community resources available to survivors
    • Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources

This could be a good match if you have… 

  • Have earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related degree (Licensure in field preferred, ie. LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC)
  • Have the capacity to provide assistance in a timely, sensitive, and supportive manner based on trauma-informed practice principles
  • Supervise with a collaborative, supportive, and growth mindset
  • Have a demonstratable record of utilizing trauma-informed theories, principles, and best practices in your practice and supervision
  • Model a rights-based, harm reduction, and social justice framework
  • Are flexible, creative, and are not afraid of growth & change
  • Have strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to model appropriate relational boundaries, use team as support, and practice self-care when exposed to high volume of traumatized victims
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed theories, principles, and best practices in working with individuals with complex trauma
  • The capacity to provide assistance in a timely, sensitive, and supportive manner based on trauma-informed practice principles
  • Knowledge of community resources including counseling, community organizing, and/or group work
  • A rights-based, harm reduction, and social justice framework
  • A flexible, creative, and proactive working style, using one’s own initiative to anticipate the unexpected and remain resourceful

Requirements for this position

  • A non-disqualifying criminal background check
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related degree (LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC preferred)
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class E License within one week of starting employment, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation

Schedule and Salary: 
This is a full-time (40 hrs.), non-exempt position. Salary of $50,000 annually. Generous benefit and time-off package to be discussed during interview process. Monthly reimbursement for mileage and expenses.
