Service Manager – Rapid Rehousing

The Full Time Service Manager- Rapid Rehousing will provide housing stability focused case management for clients with a history of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE) enrolled in a Rapid Rehousing program designated for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This position reports to the Program Manager

Agency Overview
Healing Action is a St. Louis based non-profit organization that services adults who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation including, but not limited to, human trafficking, prostitution, stripping, escorting, pornography, and survival sex.

Healing Action focuses on providing relational trauma recovery services that include intensive case management, trauma therapy, individual and group peer support services, psychoeducation groups, and supportive housing. We continue to build a team of creative, flexible, passionate, and driven individuals who thrive in a nontraditional environment.

What You’ll Do… 

  • Provide direct case management services to eligible clients for Rapid Rehousing, including
    assessments, intakes, housing search, and coordination of community resources and referrals for
  • Establish a helping relationship, assesses complex problems, selects problem solving interventions and
    help Members function effectively
  • Work closely and cohesively with a community agency partner to share resources and client referrals
  • Navigate housing systems with members including housing searches and tours
  • Work with members to address landlord conflicts and ongoing housing challenges
  • Work with members navigating the housing application process, including addressing background
    check results and housing history
  • Support Members in accessing community resources, including housing, public transportation, legal
    requirements, state benefits, employment development, childcare, and social networks
  • Work with Members to complete a comprehensive safety plan
  • Work with Members to create client specific, measurable, and reasonable goals, objectives and
  • Provide psychoeducation and therapeutic skills to promote member recovery and help Members
    understand their treatment and recovery options
  • Participate in Supervision, Service Team meetings, and All-Agency meetings
  • Complete paperwork, including intake, assessment, notes, and database entries in a complete and
    timely manner
  • Administer a variety of pre/post assessments and evaluations to ensure effectiveness of services
  • Work with the Healing Action Service Team to strengthen the infrastructure required to expand and
    deliver comprehensive services
  • Participate in partnerships with internal and external collaborators, grant partners, and the St Louis
    City and County Continuum of Care
  • Participate in on-call service line rotation during office hours.
  • Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources

This could be a good match if you have… 

  •  A graduate degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related degree
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed theories, principles, and best practices in working
    with individuals with complex trauma
  • The capacity to provide assistance in a timely, sensitive, and supportive manner based on trauma informed practice principles
  • Knowledge of Housing First and Harm Reduction philosophies and implementation
  • Knowledge of St. Louis area community resources
  • A flexible, creative, and proactive working style, using one’s own initiative to anticipate the
    unexpected and remain resourceful
  • Demonstrated ability to use person-first language and refrain from stigmatizing language
  • Demonstrated ability to model appropriate relational boundaries, use team as support, and practice
    self-care when exposed to high volume of traumatized victims
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; proven ability to communicate with
    diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks including proficiency in balancing direct service responsibilities with
    effective record keeping
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, set and meet goals and
  • Adherence to a strong Code of Ethics and ability to adopt the NASW Code of Ethics

Requirements for this position

  • A clean criminal background check
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class E License within one week of starting employment,
    proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule based on member needs

Schedule and Salary: 
This is a full time (40 hrs.), non-exempt position. Salary is negotiable – DOE. Generous benefit and time-off package to be discussed during interview process. Monthly reimbursement for mileage and expenses.
