AmeriCorps State members address critical community needs. This program focuses on providing trauma-informed services and survivor-centered care at various community organizations.

AmeriCorps State Members can make a difference by assisting in one or more of the following areas: 

  • Case Management 
  • Crisis Intervention 
  • Counseling 
  • Referring to resources 
  • Drop-In Center staffing Intake Assessments 
  • Other direct service duties 

AmeriCorps State Members provide direct services to participants.

Healing Action Network Benefits

AmeriCorps State Members receive many benefits including: 

  • On-site training on human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation awareness 
  • Networking opportunities with other AmeriCorps members and agencies 
  • Monthly check-ins with Volunteer Service Link AmeriCorps staff 
  • Bi-annual Days of Services events where many AmeriCorps members come together to do community service such as working in a food pantry.
  • CPR and First Aid Training 
  • Mileage Reimbursement 
  • A bi-weekly stipend (TOTAL stipend amounts listed below) 
    • 300 hour commitment – $500 stipend 
    • 675 hour commitment- $1,000 stipend 
  • Education Award to be paid directly to a college or university, or to a student loan provider (Total education award amounts listed below) 
    • 300 hour commitment – $1,565.08 education award 
    • 675 hour commitment – $2,817.14 education award  

Eligibility

To serve in AmeriCorps State, you must:
  • be 18 years or older (no upper age limit)
  • be a U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien
